About Little House of Music
Welcome to Little House of Music, a revolutionary program that introduces children ages four and older to the joy of music.
I named the program Little House of Music because it begins with something children know and love: home and family. In this musical world, Miss Treble and Mr. Bass get married, and their children become the musical notes who live on the lines and spaces of the Grand Staff. Familiar stories and playful characters help make learning music fun and memorable.
Through more than 40 years of teaching, I recognized the need for a program that introduces young children to music in a way that fits their attention spans and natural curiosity. Working with children in a fun, interactive setting inspired me to create Little House of Music, a three-level course that blends music education with imagination and play.
Learning Music “The Fun Way”
Little House of Music uses the piano keyboard as a foundation for exploring rhythm, timing, dynamics, and note reading. Children learn through sight, sound, touch, and hands-on activities, with characters such as Harriet Half Note and Alistair the A Note helping bring each lesson to life.
Parents can learn alongside their children, making music part of family time at home. My goal is to help children understand music while discovering how much they can enjoy it.

Through stories, songs, and activities, children explore musical ideas while practicing creativity, building confidence, and learning together.
My Mission
My mission is to make affordable, quality music education available to all children, including children with disabilities or learning differences. I want every child to have the opportunity to discover the joy of music and develop a love for learning that continues beyond the lessons.
Recognition & Reach
Little House of Music was first published on 16th Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee. The Little House of Music Level 1 Package later earned a 2002 Grammy nomination for Best Musical Album for Children.
My students and I have performed on national television. I also introduced and taught Little House of Music in the Murfreesboro, Tennessee, elementary school system’s after-school program before expanding into Satellite Beach, Florida, where I continued sharing the program with young musicians.
A Foundation for a Lifetime of Music
The full program consists of three levels, with 10 lessons in each level. These lessons are designed to help children build a foundation in music theory and performance that they can carry into learning the instrument of their choice.
Over the years, I have watched students grow from their first musical experiences into playing multiple instruments, writing songs, and carrying their love of music into everyday life.
Looking ahead, my vision includes developing Levels 4, 5, and 6 and bringing the world of Little House of Music to life through animation. At its heart, the program will always have the same purpose: helping children discover and love music “The Fun Way.”
